In the quiet of the empty room,
I hear the echoes of your laugh,
Fading like whispers through a tomb,
A ghost of love we couldn’t grasp.
The air is heavy, laced with pain,
Each breath a weight I cannot bear.
Memories fall like winter rain,
Drenched in the loss of what was there.
Your touch, once warm, now feels like frost,
A chill that seeps beneath my skin.
A love so bright, but now it’s lost,
And darkness blooms where light had been.
I trace your name with trembling hand,
On frost-kissed glass, then watch it fade.
The dreams we built, a castle of sand,
Swept by the tide, alone I wade.
If hearts could mend like broken things,
Perhaps this ache would cease to be.
But love has clipped my fragile wings,
And left me chained to memories.
So here I stand, a shadow’s shell,
Bound to a love that couldn’t stay.
And though I break, I’ll never tell
How much I longed for you to stay.
